Beginner's Basic Tactics and Tips in Buying Airsoft Gear

Airsoft is definitely one of the best games that adults enjoy. It brings excitement and an adrenaline rush to the players, and they are challenged physically and mentally. After a while, players will notice that there tactical abilities are greatly enhanced. Airsoft is also used for military simulation since the guns that are used are replicated after real firearms, but they shoot plastic bullets instead of ammunition.

Airsoft is a popular game, and people usually first get involved with the sport because of their colleagues and friends. But starting this hobby can be complicated to some people since there are many rules, airsoft tactics, and gear that they need to understand. Buying a gun is one of the most difficult parts of starting the hobby, not only financially but also when it comes to the type and variety of gun that they will buy. If you would like to purchase a gun, seek the advice of a friend who has a good understanding of airsoft so that that they can help you through the process, and maybe they will even let you borrow theirs to try the game out.

As a beginner, it is advisable to have the electric M4 Airsoft gun since you can easily upgrade the gun internally, externally, and there are a lot of M4 Airsoft Magazines available. With this type of gun, you can also easily buy the spare parts since almost every manufacture creates this kind of Airsoft gun. But if you happen not to like the M4, you should buy the airsoft gun that you want. Rifles are not advisable if you are in an enclosed place like a barn, and a short-barreled submachine gun is not suitable in open air venue like a forest. Some the basic gear for airsoft you should have are BBs, a tactical vest, and protective eyewear or goggles. You can upgrade your gear as you learn about the variety of gear available and the more advanced tactical concepts in airsoft.

When you have the basics down and essential gear, you will be ready to play an airsoft game with your friends. You should know some basic airsoft tactics that can save you in battle. You will eventually learn the advanced tactics in playing the game through your experiences and the experiences of your teammates. But in general, your a basic tactic that you should always keep in mind is to protect yourself by not making yourself a main target of your enemies. Also, don't forget to wear your safety Airsoft gear when you are on the field.

How To Avoid Being Shot In Airsoft!

People always say it is not the gun, it is the player. This is totally true. While a higher quality gun is going to have less issues with jams, misfires and everything else that plagues airsofters, it isn't going to guarantee you a win. These tactics will help you make sure you dominate on the field.

The first step is to stay covered when you can and concealed when you can't find cover. The difference between cover and concealment is that cover will protect you from getting shot and concealment will only hide you from the enemy. You need to always be looking for that next place to get cover. A good rule of thumb when determining your next piece of cover is how long will it take to get there. The ideal time is just under the amount of time for your enemy to spot you, aim and fire. The military uses the phrase "I'm up, they see me, I'm down" because by time you can say that sentence to yourself, if you are not back under cover, the enemy will have had time to sight in on you and fire.

Once you have good cover or if you are pinned down, you still need to be able to defend your position. Hiding in one spot and not returning fire will get you trapped right away and you'll be hit. If you do not have a teammate with you, then you will need to make sure you can cover both directions (assuming you haven't been flanked or surrounded). You are going to need to look around to see where everyone is. The important thing here is never expose more than you absolutely have to and ALWAYS be ready to fire back. If you poke just your head out and see an enemy, you have to take a few seconds to shoulder your weapon, aim and fire. Those seconds can be critical! What you want to do is lean out just a little so only one eye is exposed. You want your elbow tucked in to your side (no wings!) and your wrist bent in a way so the smallest amount of your arm is exposed. The "I'm up, they see me, I'm down" rule will not work here because we have to assume they have already seen you and may even be pelting your cover with bbs. So you want to pop out quickly, just long enough to get a quick shot or two and come back in. The next time you pop out, you will want to do it from a different location. If you were standing, crouch. If you were crouching stand. If you were on the left side, this time fire from the right. This will keep them guessing and will also force them to aim again each time.

Try these tips out and you will notice you get hit much less. These skills also translate to paintball, laser tag and maybe even real combat. Keep those wings in and stay safe!
