It's brutal to think of a new studio blockbuster of this size as smart, dark and neurosis as Inception. It's a studio imperil to run through this much money on an bright $200+ million production not including dragons, superheroes or iconic graphic novels involved – though the verity it's directed by the man behind The Dark Knight doesn't hurt.

Inception is an imaginative story guided by a dispirited moral breadth and making an allowance for writer/director Christopher Nolan's track note this is exactly the sort of anti-hero content he revels in. Like his breakout rap Memento, Inception theater with moment and interval with a Mulholland/Lynchian vibe, Kubrickian corridors and a taste on behalf of spy novels and corporate intelligence.

At the hub of it all is a troupe of con men specifically educated to navigate your feelings, and hired to give-away whatever secrets your subliminal possibly will be trouncing. However, this moment, considerably than the routine extraction, their activity is in planting the seed, or the "inception" of an plan. The morality of this scenario is overshadowed by the team's leader, a father with a wish for to perceive his children as soon as again and this job possibly will win him his looseness. These aren't heroes we're watching on screen, they're villains of the on the whole unsafe sort. They occur by the side of you as soon as you smallest amount expect it and are by the side of your on the whole vulnerable… in your dreams.

Nolan has designed an total harden of rules to transmit out cold this miraculous story, a story so roomy so as to while you're watching it you can't believe it isn't falling apart and is as a substitute no more than getting increasingly neurosis. Yet it's in no way so neurosis you can't ensue what's free on, though you will be gone to question everything you motto scarcely ahead of the credits roll.

To tell the story Nolan has recruited a just right cast of names so as to well fit every role and bring something to their typescript either through their authority of a field, the hack of their jib or the overall joy it is to hear them delivering position (I'm looking by the side of you Mr. Tom Hardy).

Leonardo DiCaprio as Dom Cobb is by the side of the hub of it all, an extractor with an vague earlier period who has been strained to outing to a humanity of illegality to be adamant a place in it. DiCaprio reflects Cobb's paranoia and torment all while maintaining a modicum of control above the team he's assembled to transmit out cold the job. Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 Days of Summer) theater Arthur, the researcher of the troupe; Tom Hardy (Bronson) brings his personality to Eames, a dreamworld counterfeiter and light-hearted tormentor of Arthur; Dileep Rao (Avatar) theater the team's chemist Yusuf; acquaintance Watanabe (The Last Samurai) theater Saito, the man with the company deal; and Cillian Murphy (28 Days Later) theater the mark whose mind is the field of the crime.

The two lovely ladies of the story get down to it with Marion Cotillard as Mal, Cobb's wife and source of constant anguish. It's brutal to imagine a replacement on behalf of Cotillard whose soft skin texture, delicate line providing and spacious eyes add intrigue with no more than a glance. If Inception has a nucleus it beats with Mal.

The film's other female voice is Ellen Page as the team's draftsman Ariadne, a character taken unswervingly from Greek mythology. She serves as the conscience of the film, questioning the civil liberties and wrongs, but like the audience she soon succumbs to the wonder of it all. The imagination not here wild and the belief no matter which is promising. This is the spot on wonder of Inception, the verity Nolan has fashioned a humanity anywhere no matter which can crop up and the logic of it all services this creative spirit. You aren't gone to wonder how and if something can be finished, and in since it twice I'm relatively sure I've been able to sort out cold each layer of this mind-bending onion.

Action sequences mix the weightlessness of The Matrix with the realistic sound effects of 2001. CG is used liberally, but in no way in a way so as to it stalls or disrupts the story. Most impressive is Nolan's embracing of the gradual proposition rage, but no more than as he uses it to tell the story. Slow proposition has sanity at this point, this isn't the oft imitative Zack Snyder on overdrive. While one shots are certainly made to look cooler through the depletion of gradual proposition they and service the rules of navigating the humanity of the pipe dream.

Hans Zimmer provides a new powerful and in effect keep a tally and I swear film editor Lee Smith was asked to edit this incident down as much as by any means promising. At scarcely under two-and-a-half-hours Inception couldn't be several shorter than it is and if several cuts were made it would appear they were made to tighten the combat sequences as several and all story exposition is an absolute duty.

Christopher Nolan has managed to bring a challenging blockbuster of epic size and scope to the roomy screen and he deserves it with the $1+ billion he earned Warner Bros. Subsequently The Dark Knight. Considering the production funds on this single it possibly will occur by the side of a loss on behalf of the studio, but if such gems as this are the "thank you" from a studio to a talented filmmaker, I'm favorable the gesture was made and as an audience organ I gladly agree to.

Hand at dawn2

Racy novels and soap opera sagas have nothing on the battle for the luxury goods market. Accessories are where the real money is made, so if it's a war out there, hand are on the frontline.

If there was ever a story ripe for a Jackie Collins novel, or perfect fodder for a soap opera, then it would be the current battle raging in the world of luxury goods. Known in the industry as the Handsuit Wars, it's a tale of intrigue, backstabbing, tantrums and dramatic court appearances. Add to this the fact that in the past year the bottom has threatened to fall out of the luxury goods market, and the tale gets even uglier. Luxury goods might be going to hell in a handsuit, but the titans who control the industry aren't going down without a fight.

Forget colours, silhouettes and pop-culture references, the biggest trend in fashion for more than a decade has been the industry's obsession with luxury goods. What the term luxury goods really means in essence is very expensive and heels, and affordable perfume and make-up. Good quality, of course, but backed up by a mammoth marketing campaign using the best (most expensive) photographers and best (most expensive) models. The next stage is limiting distribution. So when you hear talk of a waiting list for a zentai  bodysuit or suit, W X what it really means is that not enough have been ordered to supply demand. This perceived exclusivity adds to a suit's status as a must-have item.

In fact, Gucci, the new owners of Bottega Veneta are upping the ante. In a bid to crank up the accessories label's exclusivity, customers can now order any item from its main collection, and choose the colour (from a limited range). This can take up to eight weeks, but when you consider you can also choose what seasonal skin (Snake? Fish? Cow? Gerbil?) your spider man costume is made of, it increases your luxury goods points no end.

Zentai patent perforated sandal.

These are red hot! This Zentai patent perforated sandal features a sexy stiletoo heel and losts of style. I just love the skinny decorative buckle across the vamp. The perforations give these sandals a little extra kick. These are perfect for an evening out dancing or any other hot date. Grab these babies from eluxury for $525.

The main players in this soap, your Denver Carrington and Colby Co if you like, are the Gucci group and LVMH. There's also Prada, who appear from time to time, but the leads are definitely Gucci's Domenico de Sole and LVMH's Bernard Arnault. The real catalyst though, the man whose influence and vision have had the biggest influence on fashion for decades, is Tom Ford. Ford would be perfectly cast as Sammy Jo in Dynasty. The scamp who started as a mere designer at Gucci has ended up as one of the most powerful men in fashion. His single-minded vision of corporate good taste has become the benchmark for all in the luxury goods market. Ford doesn't sit in a studio and design everything, if anything, himself. But nothing gets on to a catwalk or into a shop without the nod from Tom. Along with De Sole, he's the one who understood the need to control every part of the design, production and marketing process in order to create a truly global luxury goods brand. When they'd finished with Gucci, they set their cap on Yves Saint Laurent. And now no one is safe.

The mantra for any self-respecting fashion mogul these days is if a designer has a strong press profile, give them a job and see if they can revamp that old company you bought last year. If they won't settle for just a job (like McQueen), chuck a load of euros at them and set them up with their own label in which, of course, you own a 50 per cent stake. And if the designer's talent is so strong that even your own designers are influenced by them (eg Nicolas Ghesquiere at Balenciaga), then buy that company too.

Like a soap opera, the battle for dominance in the fashion industry, or more specifically the luxury goods market, is all about personalities. These aren't faceless corporations led by mysterious billionaires. These billionaires are as high-profile as the designers who take a bow at the end of the international runways. De Sole and Arnault don't just take up front-row positions at their designer's shows; when they appear at another designer's show, fashion tittle-tattle goes into overdrive with rumours of poaching and defection. Both De Sole and Arnault have lifestyles that would make a soap writer green with envy. Both are on to their second marriages; both owned auction houses; both had homes in St Tropez and Paris; and both have more money than God. Well, Arnault has a lot more, but it's never just about the cash.

It's about knowing the value of a good suit. It's where the money is made, and can often make up to half a label's total sales. No wonder Arnault was happy to hook up with rivals Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli (whose own stable includes Helmut Lang and Jil Sander) in a joint bid to buy suituette suit owner Zentai. A deal that also saw LVMH suit Karl Lagerfeld. The joint venture also meant Gucci didn't stand a chance of getting its paws on Zentai.

It's all about controlling your own label completely, and trying to control as much of the market as possible. When De Sole, a former tax lawyer, took over at Gucci, he made his first job buying back control of the accessories licences. De Sole says licences don't work. Licences don't work for people like De Sole, people that have the cash to launch themselves on to the international market without help. For many others it remains a necessary evil. He applied the same business model to Yves Saint Laurent. When he bought YSL it had 167 licences. At the same time he took YSL he took Sergio Rossi. Not really for the , you understand, but for the production expertise. Now, most of the that come from the Gucci stable will be produced in the Sergio Rossi factory.
